Jeremy Scott’s In An Empire State of Mind

Looking for Jeremy Scott’s candy-colored vision of Americana? For the past few years, it’s required a trip to the Paris shows. But the home-grown designer is coming home for Fall 2010, where he’ll show his latest collection at New York Fashion Week. The show itself will be “an homage to fashion itself,” Scott told us when we rang him up in L.A.
And the intercontinental relo? “I’ve been feeling a New York moment,” the designer told us. “I don’t know, maybe it’s all the Jay-Z? I get kind of itchy after too long in one place; it’s been over three years since I’ve shown in New York. In fashion time, that’s practically a decade! Lots of things have changed since I showed in New York—the Adidas collections and all that—so the time seemed right. And maybe I’m a little lazy, too—it’s a little easier to trek over to New York than to go all the way over the ocean.”
